Granny Square blankey

Remember when I was going to make an afghan to match this rug? I went shopping in my basement, then at the fabric store for yarn to kind of spruce up the colors a bit. See this post

if you want a reminder of it. Here's the rug...

And here are the grannies I've been making...

See how the colors match the rug?

And I got to thinking......do they need a border? You know, the main colors (from shopping in my basement and for matching the rug) are the pinks and the blue.

And I was wondering if they needed a border to kind of tie them all in together. A border with all the same color.

So I took my pinks and added a single crochet border to a few of them.

What do you think? Border or not?

I've added the pink shades on a few of them, but not the blue.

Should I add the blue too? Or take the pink off....what to do......decisions decisions

Around the outside of the entire blanket the idea was to tie it all together with the pinks then maybe a bigger border of the blue. But before I stitch them together, I need to make some decisions. Any ideas creative blogger friends?

  1. I like the pink borders around the squares. Then if you border the whole blanky with pink then blue or vice versa.......just a suggestion. :o) xoxox

  4. I guess I am the odd one out, I liked them before the border.

  5. I kind of like the borderless too. It would be hard for a granny square quilt to be too busy, but almost seems like two borders might be headed that direction.
