Actually, there was another book there, a scrapbook, that was VERY old. It even had a newspaper article of Tennyson's death. Old post cards, etc. Only 20 bills, and I didn't buy it. I also didn't get a picture of it. Bummer.

The absolute only reason I didn't buy this stuff is because I have no idea where I'd put it. I have lots of pin cushions, papers, purses, etc. And we are trying to move. And I am trying to have less stuff, not more. But I really liked it all. Especially the purse, but I just bought one with Christmas money back in December.
Now this stuff is art on display.

And this is what I did buy.
This old box. I thought I could actually use it for storing small items in that I take with me on trips and such. Like crochet hooks, needles, thread, etc.
It's wooden.

I bought some wool. This booth had wool remnants for $5.00 a basket full and it included the basket.
And this wool....I buy from them every year. I like to use it for bags, pillows, applique'...fun stuff. I'm not a rug hooker, but it's good wool for rug hooking.
I bought this from them when they attended a granny bee meeting and had some for sale.
And here is a couple of previous years purchases.
And I bought this on Saturday morning. The lady got it at the goodwill store in her town and brought it with her. It was only 12 bills...how could I pass it up.

Cindy, When we go to events like that we want things, but we know we really do not need them. I have gotten so much better about not buying something I can't use either for myself, or as a gift. The little box is good for holding things...that's what I look for :):)Smiles, xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteWell I certainly would have had a hard time walking away without those top items I was actually drooling but like you I am trying to stop hoarding and that is hard but I am doing pretty well. Do you know I now hoard memory cards for my photos good thing they are small. Awesome stuff thanks for sharing Tennyson yup still drooling. B
ReplyDeleteLove what you passed up and what you bought. I really like the pin cushion with little red riding hood? on it. And the wool you should join one of the Sew Along's in blogland and make a quilt or penny rug...How much fun! I wonder if one of those eraser sponges would take the crayon off the box. Really sweet box for storing crafty things.
