Senior Cords!
While cleaning out the house (we are moving FROM) the other day, I found these in the back of the closet!
Anyone remember Senior Cords?
You going to admit it if you do!!!!!
Cindy, Could you imagine what kids would put on their cords these days??? It would be scary...cause I remember how some boys would push the envelope way back when. Smiles, Susie
Actually, I remember back in 1976, my Senior Year in High School, my Mom told me about Senior Cords. And just a handful of us made them. We would wear them in cheerblock, but since we didn't conform to the cheerblock uniform, we had to sit in the back! My Mom's era though, they all had them. Now, to answer some questions...I did not paint those. A friend of mine did and we are still friends today. He's actually a high school buddy of my husbands. Hi Kate! Nice to see you again, it's been awhile. I still have them because they always get stored in the back of a closet and get brought out whenever I move. Sigh...if only I were still that small! Brenda, I remember streakers too!!! Ha ha ha I forgot about them though! Susie, I'd be afraid to think what they'd put on them, but I imagine they'd be hanging off of their butt and they'd be pulling them up every time they took a step. Scary! Have a good day everyone.
Cindy I graduated from Logansport in '72 and Senior cords were still popular but fading. For our 35 th reunion I did research and found that cords are an Indiana tradition thought to have been started at Purdue or IU. I can't site my sources but that's what I recall.
NO BUT I really want a pair. Very cool. I guess I am too old to remember them:) B
