In my blog I plan to chat about nature, crafts, baking, gardening, beekeeping, family, and whatever else seems appropriate at the time. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!

The festivities have begun!

Yesterday, I picked up the two boys I watched for ten years of their lives.

Look how big he is! I know, it means nothing to you, but to me.......
When he was little, if I would walk across the floor where he was playing, he would grab my leg and hang on, and I'd pull him across the floor. We have hardwood floors and it was like a ride for him.

I asked them when I picked them up if they want to eat out somewhere or eat at our house. They said, "your house." (smile)

What they are doing here is looking for their Christmas presents. One time I hid one of their birthday presents, and from that point on hiding presents became a tradition.

After we ate a lunch of mashed potatoes, noodles, chicken, carrots, and pomegranates (the youngest loves them),

we played dominoes. It was a nice day. When they left, I had a few hours, then two of my nieces came over. The other one arrives today. When my Brother and his wife dropped them off he said, "What is Sarah talking about. All I keep hearing about is some rotating Christmas tree that has toys on it and they get to pick one. She can't wait." Traditions peeps....that's what it's all about....traditions. Tonight we go to the rotating Christmas tree. The festivities have begun!

PS - For all of you chicken people read my previous post. Minks killed 25 of my neighbors chickens in one night. I'm sure they are coming from our habitat. We have had a lot of rain, and it flooded the creek and pond the other day. They live in dens. I'm thinking we have a lot of minks. Who knew?

PPS - My favorite time of day....early in the morning before my nieces wake up. I'm going to take my laptop in the other room, and watch a Christmas movie. It's still dark out and the Christmas tree lights sparkle. I'll knit, drink coffee, and relax before the crazyness begins. A new tradition for me!

  2. Oooh, I love your new tradition! Maybe I could start that one - its already 8am tho, and not dark.. I could have watched one at 4am tho, when I was lying in bed wide awake.

Those boys look beautiful, and the smiles on their faces show they love being with you.

Tradition! (wasnt that fiddler on the roof?)

    Cheers

  4. I will have to read all your post this week. We have had our oldest grandson for the last 3 days and I have not had much of a chance on the computer. He likes to play games on mine. As it is I am cheating and checking up on some of my bloggy friends at work. I have a slow day and no one else is in yet. So it is catch up time. I never do this...but it is Christmas time and hubs has been home all week and I feel like I am missing out. Looks like you have been busy!
