I noticed something different and at first I thought it was a statue, until it started jumping and playing around. A fawn! I quickly but quietly did the real-fast high-step (you know what I mean?) back to my car to get my camera, and the apple core I had thrown in the yard.
When I returned he started running towards me! I was standing in the middle of the driveway. He was either charging me, or didn't see me! Suddenly, right at the edge of the drive way, he stopped, and looked up. Neither of us moved. I imagine his heart was pounding as hard as mine! When I took this picture, he took off, stopped about half way out there, and started playing again. I will not bore you with the dozen pictures I took.Later on, I was giving Reality Jane a tour of our outpost (campsite) when she heard something in the woods.
The little guy watching us as he stood in the woods.
I did not get a picture of him, but I thought I'd show you a picture of the campsite.
It's where my niece and I camped a couple of weeks ago, for about an hour and a half! Read about it here.

He was a cutey pie, for sure.
ReplyDeleteCindy Bee ...you are gonna love living out there in your secret woodsy garden...I just know it. The moving part is hard , but the living after will be fun and exciting.
Are you going to Grannys tommorrow?
What a gorgeous fawn--those big ears! So sweet. I love your apiary. I so want bees. Hopefully someday :) Good to catch up with you.

Lovely little fawn! We see deer all the time at our lake house. I had to go back and read your "camping" story and it was a hoot! I am like you, I have quit camping, except in the fall when it is cool and I have my blow-up mattress. I cannot stand bugs, not scared of them, just don't like them buzzing around my head, and they know it. No one else will get bitten except me! Thanks for always reading my posts, you are a good blog friend!
ReplyDeleteFawn. Gorgeous. Period.
ReplyDeleteGod makes such cute stuff!
Your land is just beautiful Cindy! A fawn too...and all those bees. You picked wonderful place to live and build.
