In my blog I plan to chat about nature, crafts, baking, gardening, beekeeping, family, and whatever else seems appropriate at the time. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Paint and Palette

Last Saturday, I had a private Paint and Palette party at Solstice Art Gallery.
There is my Sister and her friend Shauna, and our cousin Vickie and her daughter Ashley.

And here are a couple of my friends I used to work with.  Susie on the left, and her friend Jan, and Cheryl on the right and her daughter Annie.
And here is the Granny Bee
with a couple of Granny Bees, Carol and Mary.  Marci, our teacher, is standing in the back.
There's Mandy and Lynn
 and Erin and Wendy
And as you can see we start off with blank canvasses!
This is the picture we were all going to paint.
We are a very serious group....for about two minutes!  Cheryl was proud of herself...I think she got her little pencil marks on the 2 and the 12 inch mark.
It really is a little intimidating when you first start out painting on a blank canvas, especially if you are not artsy.  But if you ever have a chance to go to one of these parties, you should go.
They walk you through every little detail...you do NOT have to be an artist, or even know how to paint.  And it is fun.
This table was the "fun" table!  It all started when we were told to make a pencil dot at the 2 inch mark and the 12 inch mark, and Vickie asked if the 12 inch mark was actually on the 12 or at the end of the ruler!  And everyone started laughing, so my Sister said, "well it's just that we're not used to seeing 12 inches!"  And every REALLY started laughing.  Then someone at my table said, "Is this the sister running for public office?"  I think that loosened every up because we all had a great evening from that point on!

Our group
and family picture.
And here is my picture.  Here is the question for all of you.  Can you tell what the red things are supposed to be?

  4. Cindy, What a fun time. Everyone did well. I like to see a grouping of painting when people do the same thing, they all are a bit different. xoxo,Susie
