On Saturday morning, Honey Bea and I waited patiently for Vickie to come and pick us up for our Florida trip.
Apparently someone set her alarm clock for PM instead of AM so she overslept a little bit. But she made pretty good timing and off we went by 6ish am.
We knew we had a 12 hour drive ahead of us as we were staying at her in-laws in Georgia. As she was driving by a casino in Shelbyville, she said, "Hello casino, see you on the way home." I said, "STOP! PULL-IN" It was around 7:30 in the morning, but in she pulled!!! We couldn't stop laughing.
I said, "here is what we'll do. We spend 20 dollars, and when it's gone, it's gone."
I said, "here is what we'll do. We spend 20 dollars, and when it's gone, it's gone."
We needed a potty break/coffee break anyway, and you get free coffee at these places! But I was so excited! I spent about $16.00, made around $38, and I stopped playing when I got down to $35. I do not advise this as a way to make money! I was playing on the penny slot machines and I'm usually a loser.
Honey Bea was just happy she got to go, so she sat quietly in the back seat crocheting on my afghan.
Granted....
it was a
very long day
in the car. Not to mention hot!
She shed her wool coat, shawl, hand and leg warmers, way before Georgia. We got to Vickie's in-laws around 9ish, visited for awhile, then went to bed.
After a good nights rest, the next morning while I was showering, Vickie gave Honey Bea some chai tea. I told Vickie she isn't a tea drinker, but Vickie said, "she is now."
I think Honey Bea had kind of a rough night from the looks of things.
After we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel with Vickie's cousins from her Dad's side of the family, we went back to the car and Honey Bea was gone!
(and let me just say, I'm not saying Vickie's Father-in-law photo bombed this picture...and I'm not saying he didn't....I'm just not saying! I think it's cute.)

I can't believe you can stop at a casino at 7:30 in the morning! Outrageous behaviour! I'm glad you are having a good trip but I'm worried about Cindy Bee. Is she off gallovanting around town? Does she know when to come home? Have a great trip Cindy. Philippa xx
ReplyDeleteI know Philippa, we actually thought it was closed when we first walked up to the door! So funny. I guess they NEVER close. And you are right...outrageous behavior! Isn't it fun sometimes?
DeleteCindy Bee
Sorry neant to say Honey Bea not Cindy Bee. Slight senior moment there. Philippa xx
ReplyDeleteYou're going to get a ransom note...I just know it.
ReplyDeleteJane x
Well I better not get a ransom not because I'm not spending my money on a doll I can make again! Especially when I'm near the ocean!!!
