Making Changes

I'm the kind of person that always thinks I can do it all. Aren't all women? So last week between making sugar patties and getting all of my hives ready for winter, which had to be done when it was warm out, and getting ready for the Harvest Celebration, and trying to work on new house stuff, I was going crazy. For real. I told my husband not to give me one more thing to do until after Wednesday or I'll lost it! And I really enjoyed spending time with the Granny Bee Stitchery group over the weekend, but I felt guilty and stressed because there were things that need done to our new house. And the house we live in, well, it's a mess.

So I am making some changes in my life. I will admit, I'm not good at time management. I've realized that about myself. But sometimes you just need some time to manage!

One of the changes I'm making is I have given up the Community Garden job. This is hard for me to do. They don't want me to quit, and the people are wonderful, and this garden is a good thing for our community. But I still remember the specific day I made that decision. I was volunteering in the garden, I had the boys with me, and a friend was on our land, getting a swarm of my bees to put in her hives. Why? Because I was too busy to mess with them. I'm not giving up my bees. I still want to be Bee Lady!

Your job is to not let me pick up one more job until the house we live in feels like a home again, and the house we are building is done. This post was much longer, and you can ask questions if you want more details. I just didn't want to bore you with them.

It's like TH said in my comment section on the last post. "You're busy as a bee." Guess what folks.....worker bees (which are females by the way) only live about 45 days in the summer. They work themselves to death!

Besides, I need time to watch Prince William and Kate! Ooh la laa a Royal Wedding.

  2. Yes, drinks and wings (I don't do beer) tomorrow night sounds fine and dandy... you need therapy Bee Lady... (we all do).

If you need help at all with anything, let me know. I am allergic to bees, so I can help with anything but bee related projects.

I want you to stay the bee lady, too.

    :0)

Call us soon please... or text, lol

  3. Sometimes we have to give up something we like to do for time to do the things we love to do. Keep on keeping on!

  4. Queen - BDubs with you and the Scribe sounds great. What time?

TH - Maybe your a Beer Snob!!! (LOL-I'm cracking myself up here!!)

Brenda - you are right. I went down to my neighbors house to retrive my Houdini dog - yet again - and the neighbor went to the Harvest Celebration. She said in a very sad voice, "Cindy, don't quit the garden." I explained that I need to in order to stay sane. I don't want to quit, but I don't want to continue living life on the fast track. Not fun.

  5. Time management is hard and it's so easy to put yourself last. I hope you get to spend time on stuff that makes you happy and give yourself permission to say no in order to achieve that. But that's easy for me to say huh? :)
