Emily's Birthday - Dick's Last Resort

One of the reasons December is so busy for us, not only do we have the usual holidays, but I also have two nieces born near Christmas.  Emily the 21st and Taylor the 24th.  And Dave's Mom's birthday was on the 14th, however, she passed away in May.
This year was a milestone birthday for Emily.  She turned 16.  They had her party at a place in Indianapolis called Dick's Last Resort.

Now, this place is a bit rude!  Loud! And the food is mediocre'.

BUT the rudeness is part of the fun.  When I ordered a salad the waitress asked if I wanted my chicken, "Grilled, Fried, or Blackened?" I said, "Fried" and her reply was, "way to have a salad!"

And it is loud because it is packed full of parties.  I think it's a great place for a bachelorette or bachelor party, or maybe birthday parties in your 20's and 30's.....after that, it's probably just a bit annoying.  (I'm getting old!)
And I really kind of think it's a bit too much for kids, but I'm probably a bit old-fashioned.

So this is Sweet 16 Emily.

And my brother and his wife, Emily's parent's (and really her Mom because isn't that who does all of the planning anyway?) reserved two tables.  You can see our waitress bending over writing down our orders.

While we are waiting on food, they make us "special hats."  As you can see in the picture, everyone gets these special hats!  Mom's said, 'The last time I got lucky I yelled BINGO!" (see, not really for kids)

This kid is only 13 and hers said, 'I water my boobs in hopes they'd grow.'

Dad's said, "I Fart Dust!"

My Sister's said, High Maintenance - No Value and her husbands....well you can read his.

My Shug's said, "insert hair donations here" and mine said, "I'm still hot....now it just comes in flashes"

Lorri's said, 'If it vibrates, I own it" and my brother's said, "The only thing I can keep up is my blood pressure"

So see....it's a fun place, just might be a little on the edge for kids.

We all had a lot of fun though.....

And Emily had a wonderful celebration!  Told ya they are getting old!

Afterwards my Shug and I drove by the circle, from a block away!  To look at the lights.  Indy downtown is packed at holiday time!

And one last thing.....do NOT plan a party downtown at the same time the colts are playing!  Ahhheemmmmm........the game was over at the same time we were trying to park.  What a mess!
