Auction goodies!

Ok - so I gotta share some cool stuff I got at an auction last weekend. Remember the crocheted squares from the last post. Here are a couple of other items I bid on and got. I had to leave the auction early, and it's probably a good thing!

These bowls will be great for soup or salad. There are five pretty nice size bowls, one larger bowl, and two candle holders that match. All for $6.00.

Now this bag was in a small box and I just had to have it. I paid $2.00. But look what was in the box below the bag. I had no idea these were under the bag.

These are beautiful funeral fans. The colors are so vivid.

I imagine they were the air conditioning at one time!

I got these beautiful plates for $6.00.

And I bought these tablecloths at a garage sale for $3.00 each.

I love sailing!

  1. Oh what fun!!! I love the green plates! They would work awesome for salad plates or for a tea with little sandwiches and deserts on them. I love flea markets, garage sales and auctions. Although I have not been to an auction in years. My younger brother use to have an auctioneers license but I don't think he does it any longer. I think between work and being a volunteer fireman in Rossville he must have gave it up.

  2. I don't go to very many auctions, but I went to this one because I knew the lady (sort of) and I knew she had a lot of crafts. I could not believe all of the craft stuff. As I said, it's a good thing I had to leave early. I did go "sailing" yesterday with a friend and got some more goodies. Now I'm going to have to get rid of some stuff. I love to buy it, use it awhile, sell it, and look for something else! And I rarely use paper plates because I buy my dishes at garage sales, usually old ones, and I don't worry about their condition. If they get broken, oh well, I didn't have a matched set to begin with and they weren't my Great Great Grandma's plates! Cindy

  3. Oh yeah - Brenda. Remember when we first talked and I said I had relatives in Rossville. Well, my cousin's husband, Alan Hale, and my cousins daughter Tracy (can't remember her married last name) are Firemen (woman) by trade. Alan retired a couple of years ago. It's amazing how much we all have in common.

  7. Hi Marilyn,

I liked the bowls too. I got them because I have an entire set of dishes that they match, maybe not exactly, but close enough. I love picking up dishes here and there, and I use them whether they match or not. Doesn't ruin a "complete" set if one of them gets broken! The tablecloths..OMG you should see my stash. It's an addiction. I had a good weekend. Went to see Jimmy Buffet. I'll post it later. Cindy
