Easter Day

Easter Day...

Late morning, early afternoon, I went to our country home with cupcakes and cookies and a bunch of other stuff in tow. My Shug was already there doing some outdoor stuff, and I had dropped off a ham, some rolls, and egg rolls (thanks to our "Asian family" who couldn't be there in person, but was in her eggroll presence!) at Mom & Dad's.

My SHug and I hid the eggs and then I put the desserts on the tables. I had purchased a Gooseberry Patch cupcake booklet and made three different cupcakes out of it. I made a chocolate chip cupcake, a cream cheese cupcake, and a peanut butter cupcake.

The no-bake cookies have become something of a tradition.

Since I don't have a sink out there, or running water, I brought iced tea and water from home to make coffee.

I wish you could smell these!

Everything was ready to go.

But first, we went to Mom & Dad's for dinner.

Ham, cheese potatoes, mac and cheese, veggie tray, fruit tray, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, rolls, egg rolls, and wine. We ate dinner, visited a little while, but the kids were getting antsy for the egg hunt.

So were the adults..only this is Mom & Dad's landscape basket, not the egg hunt basket. She is going to get in trouble if Mom sees her!

So, we got to our house and Dad was the first to find an egg. Only he wasn't hunting!

I told everyone if they find some little bendy bunnies and carrot bubble necklaces, to leave them for the kids.

Off they go...

Then my brother comes walking out of the woods and he has the fairy necklaces on!!! WHAT?

I told the kids to leave them there, that they were for the fairies!

Then when we got back to the basement area where everyone gathered, the other guys were wearing them too!!! W.T.H!

My Sister's husband explained to me that him and Andrew (my nephew) talked about it at length and remembered me saying not to get the carrot necklaces, but I didn't say anything about these particular necklaces.

Mom thought it was hilarious. And this folks.....is why we have wine at our family functions.

(note to self: do not try to open twist off wine bottles with a cork screw. It doesn't work.)

We all opened the eggs, and ate some dessert.

And visited some more.

Everyone was having a great time.

Well......

almost everyone!

This little gal, my great-niece, had to leave early...and didn't want to, so she hid behind Mom!

This is me, my Sister, and my Brother.

After things settled down a bit, the guys took off, with the kids! and went across the road fishing.

When it was pushing 7:00 pm, we went to get the guys, as they were heading back. A good time was had by all.

I hope you all had a Happy Easter too.

  3. Hi Janis,
Yes the little girl was mad, BUT she can turn the tears on and off whenever she wants. She tends to get her way that way. I'm immuned.
