Crocheted Christmas! (I know it's mid-January)

I thought I'd share a few crocheted Christmas items that I made and received.
Seems I make this Christmas tree dishcloth every year.  It's in an old issue of Crochet magazine, and it's supposed to be bunting.  I use a larger hook and cotton yarn an make it a dishcloth.  Why not?

Then Dixie Doodle and I decided we wanted Christmas tree bunting.  But we didn't want all the same trees....so while he thought about it for hours with his eyes closed on my lap,
I fiddled around with hook and yarn and made these.
Then I decorated them with bells, balls, buttons, and beads.

and they were all wonky and kept twisting and turning and I didn't know what to do with them, so I pinned them down and sprayed them with water.  Oh, and I added trunks to them.
I fiddled with decorating them some more.

Then I strung it on this sparkly yarn that reminds me of garland.
And it's still wonky!
So I'm thinking I'm going to have to back the trees with something.  Any ideas?

And the last crocheted item I have to show you is from the lovely One Crafty Mumma.  I have been following her blog for years.  I've watched her kids grow up!  I feel like I know her even though we've never met. When she's asleep, I'm awake, when I'm asleep, she's awake!

She was doing a lovely crocheted dishcloth exchange on her blog for Aussies.  I couldn't join because, well, I don't have that Crocodile Dundee accent!  OK, plus it would throw off the shipping  rate a bit.  But, she had a giveaway on her blog and I won!  Look at this lovely dishcloth she made me!

Gorgeous!   No way am I going to ruin this baby with dirty dishes!
So, I set my mug on it once in awhile, or use it to put hot plates on.  Or just look at it! I think I might have to make a few of these next year.

Thank You Mel!

  2. Lol RJ! Good eye ! Some of it probably is I heart yarn because I was trying to figure out a pattern and didn't want to 'waste' good yarn for bunting. I probably should have though, maybe it wouldn't have been so wonky.
