In my blog I plan to chat about nature, crafts, baking, gardening, beekeeping, family, and whatever else seems appropriate at the time. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Simple Pleasures!

Hey everyone, I got this braniac idea. Today is the first day of summer and it's the time of year for simple pleasures! If I knew how to do one of those blog hop thingy's and have you post back to my blog, I would. But I don't. So I'm just going to challenge everyone to post some simple pleasures on your blog. You can leave a comment to let us know you did it if you want. I think it'd be fun. Then we get to spend the rest of the summer trying to do all of these simple pleasures! What do you think?

Here's some...

Wash the dog outside...

or roast hot dogs and make s'mores around a campfire.

or drink beer out of a pink frosty mug.

go swimming in a pond or a lake.

Or let your ears blow in the wind (or maybe take your dog bye bye!)

Or eat custard out of a chocolate chip cone!

Or hand wash your car. Or let the kids do it and play in the sprinkler while they're at it!

or even hang clothes on the line!

OK now your turn....list some simple pleasures! We all need them.

  7. Cindy, I get a cold soda and sit with my feet and legs in the sun...vitamin "d" for me. I love to sit on the porch and just relax, when it's so hot. I wish I had talked to you about going to Shipshewana...I won't waste my time going there again. Stay cool girl, Smiles, Susie

  8. Hi, I am so happy that you found me and tickled pink that you like by aprons. Thanks for the Bee information. I planted a row of Zinnias and last Friday I noticed this lovely little row of green sprouts peeking out of the ground. Then on Tuesday they were gone . . . something came along and had a feast. I think it was ants. We also have an ant problem. Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes . . . nothing to really complain about. I'm so delighted that you found me out there on someone else's blog and came calling. What a sweetie pie.
About playing the guitar. That also tickles me. I started three years ago at age 63. I am living proof that an old dog can learn a new trick. I love my guitar. It has opened up so many new adventures in my life. I have always loved to sing, but singing in public was not something I had ever done. I must think that I am hind , behind the guitar, because I have no problem anymore. I sing and play with two groups and I'm having a ball. We play at the county fair, farmers market and nursing homes. If you would have told me I would be doing this three years ago . . . I would never have believed it. I'm so proud of you for deciding to learn to play. It's a wonderful instrument, because it is so portable and great for family sing-a-longs. We had our first sing-a-long, last Christmas at our family get-together.
My goodness! I have rambled on, and on . . . are you still reading? I'm probably boring you to death. Just two more things. I am also an Indiana girl . . . you can take the girl out of Indiana but you can't take Indiana out of the girl. Also, I am your newest follower and I would like to invite you to follow my blog as well. I would feel honored to have you on my list. Have a great summer, Connie :)

  9. Hi again! Hey, thanks so much for following, I really do appreciate it, and I'm looking forward to becoming great blogging friends. I was born in South Bend, lived at Hudson Lake when I was very young, moved to Michigan City when I started school. My grandmother lived in Green Castle and my best friend lives in Lafayette. I have relatives all over the state. Where do you live?

  11. Simple pleasures: drinking tea out on the porch listening to the sounds of nature, being able to sit and crochet without the Mr. wanting to go outside, riding my motorcycle with no destination in mind. Another week and I can do all of those. :o) xo
