Michigan, Day 2

I thought I'd pick up where I left off on the Michigan trip.

The next morning we walked a little more around Saugatuck, then headed to Douglas, Michigan.  It's about five minutes from Saugatuck, by car!
Has anyone noticed that succulents seem to be "the thing" now.  Well, FYI, I started it!  I did.  I bought some succulents in Florida a few years ago, and they are still going strong, hanging from their Florida shell macrame' style planters in the basement.
But enough of about me....About Douglas...There are only a handful of stores in Douglas, and this one was my favorite!  The nice thing is there weren't as many people there, and it was easy to park.
We bought one of those birds.

It was lunch time and before we left we asked where to eat.  There aren't many places to eat in Douglas at lunch time, but it didn't matter.  This pizza joint had the BEST sandwiches.  We ordered a club sandwich of some sort, and I am SO GLAD we split it!
This was half!

This was the filling!
Laaaawwww people, I want to go back for the sandwich.
And this was our view, from the picnic table we ate at!

After lunch we left the Douglas area and headed for South Haven, MI.  But first, we stopped at a nature park we saw along the way and went for a small walk through the woods.  It was all paved, so it was handicap accessible.

And at the end of the trail, this was the view.

I want to get one of the (above) Lake Michigan pictures enlarged for hanging, but I can't decided which one!  Any suggestions?

And if you don't know this, Michigan has a LOT of wineries.

When we got to South Haven they had a Farmer's Market going on, but vendors were just closing up.  It was a very hot two days, and I took this picture because I think it's so nice that they have this cover for their Farmer's Market.

South Haven is another harbor town, with shopping, and eating, and a lot of Bed and Breakfasts.  We did not spend the night.

We stopped off in Benton  Harbor and had a piece of cheese cake!  YUM!

You can't go wrong visiting any, or all, of these harbor towns and cute shops.
It was a fun two day get away and I love all of the harbors and quaintness of the buildings.
I'm ready for another Michigan vacation!
