The Venitian

The next casino/hotel I want to show you had an Italian theme.

 The Venitian

The gondola rides start out inside, even though they look like they are outside.  The picture I took above is outside.  I'm on a balcony.  The pictures below are inside.

This is part of a mural on the ceiling at the Venitian

And this is St. Mark's square.
See the statue at the left of the picture.  It isn't a statue.  She is real.
St. Mark's square is huge, and again, inside.  They paint their ceilings to look like they are outside.

They had singing and a skit in St. Mark's square and I had never seen it before. We just happened to get there in time to get a seat before it started.

They even had audience participation!  They gave everyone red, white, and green napkins to wave in the air.

Having been to Italy a couple of years ago, the Venitian was one of my favorite hotels.  I'd love to stay there but it's a tad pricy for my budget.

  1. What beautiful surroundings! One of my favorite TV chefs, Giada, has opened a restaurant in Las Vegas. Can't remember in which hotel, though.

  3. Isn't it beautiful. When we were there I visited the plaza each day . . . the free show was wonderful, at one point the opera star came out on the balcony and started to sing and I started to cry. It touched some cord in my soul that I didn't even know was there. I felt foolish, because I had no idea what the words were. She could have been singing about cupcakes for all I know, but she made me cry. That was the closest to Italy that I am sure I will ever get, LOL.
    Have a great trip!

  4. Cindy, I always say, I wish I had a penny for every light burning in Vegas. LOL. The looks so nice. You at least can think about the fun you had ...when winter returns. But let's not think of that now. Hope you are enjoying your farm like. Hope your bees are doing okay. xoxo,Susie
