Here is my groovy hat and hand-warmers I made out of fiber that I spun into yarn years ago. I bought the fiber at a weaving studio in Brown County, IN. A slouch hat and hand-warmers seem to fit in with Brown County atmosphere. I finished it just in time for our annual trek to Brown County.
And here is why it takes us six to seven hours to make a 2 1/2 hour drive!
We have to stop for pie at Gray Bros. cafeteria.
Best pecan pie ever! I mean EVER!
We have to stop at Oliver Winery...
and take a selfie by the pond.
And say Hi to Oliver the toad! (teehee)
Then My Shug walks around...
..and waits....
...and waits....(he's there...look through the bottom of the window)
while I get a lot of undivided attention at the wine bar! It wasn't very busy and they were very generous with their wine tastings today!
Of course I had to take pictures of the beautiful fall colors
and get some more ideas for my list of fun things to grow!
We made a couple more unplanned stops, and finally made it to Brown County, after stopping at IGA for cheese and crackers to go with that wine!
Have a nice evening and enjoy this weather and the fall colors!
Cindy Bee
Dagnabbit, if you'd said something we could have 'met up' in Bloomington! :-P
ReplyDelete'Nesty'. I like that word so much I'm stealing it!
Jacqueline! I never even thought about it! But you know what....my Shug prolly woulda said Not one more stop Cindy Bee!! We need to get there!
DeleteGo right ahead and steal "Nesty!" Use it in a sentence, see if I care!
Hi Cindy Bee, Oh, how I love Brown County! We live in Northwest Indiana and have been there a couple of times! I have a couple embroidered towels that I bought there. I saw you over at talented Connie's blog. I have Lyme and always love seeing what she makes! Your hat and hand warmers are very nice and I do love Pecan Pie! Nancy

ReplyDeleteWell hello there Cozy Thyme Cottage! I'm going to pop in and say hello. I love seeing what Connie makes too!
DeleteHi Cindy, I would have loved seeing you modeling your hat and gloves. That yarn is so pretty and to think that you spun it yourself . . . I am very impressed :)
ReplyDeleteConnie,
DeleteI'll post a picture of that hat and handwarmers this winter. There is a lot of wool in it. We will remember this trip for a long time. It's the first time we've ever visited in October and it's been in the mid to upper 70's! It's usually cold!
Brown county looks beautiful ... I've added it to my very long list of places to visit one day.
ReplyDeleteFiona,
DeleteI think you should visit Brown County, and Nashville is a quaint little village type town with two wine tasting rooms, lots of artsy-crafty type shopping, and plenty of places to eat. It's one mile from the state park. However, I think I'd stay in the lodge rather than the cabins!
