Cream Cheese Crescents Dessert

For Mother's Day my Brother, Sister, and I (along with a couple of in-laws!) went out to eat on Saturday evening with Mom and Dad at a restaurant that she chose, then we went to my Sister's house for dessert.  I made the following chocolate covered strawberries, some box mix cupcakes for the kids (or whoever wanted them).  I put the icing on the side since some people prefer no icing.

I also made these cream cheese crescent bars.  They are easy to make and delish!  I don't know where the recipe originated from, except for my friend Marcia.  We used to make these all the time when we worked full time jobs because they were good, and quick to make.

Here's the recipe.

2 packages of crescent rolls
2 packages of cream cheese 8 oz each (softened)
3/4 cup sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 egg yolk
1 egg white, beaten

Place one package of crescent rolls in the bottom of an ungreased 9 x 13 baking dish.  Mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and egg yolk together. Spread mixture on top of crescent layer.  Place the other package of crescent rolls on top of mixture.  Spread egg white on top of rolls.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.  325 if using a glass pan.
(I'm wondering if they would be even better with three packages of cream cheese?  I've never tried it.)
