Over the weekend we surprised my Sister with a Birthday overnight trip. First stop was cousin Vickie's house. There, we gave her a card with 44 ones in it. We wanted her to have a little gambling money. We were going to go to Blue Chip Casino, then shopping at the outlet mall.
We arrived in Michigan City at Supper time. So we stopped at this fun restaurant that we surmised used to be a train depot...
Hence the train tracks. Love the water view. We were right on gorgeous Lake Michigan!
When we arrived at the motel, and got settled in, we had a toast to the Birthday girl
and some birthday cake.
Remember the J. Edwards cake at my birthday party? My sister said to save the leftover for her birthday!
I did!
Vickie and I made drinks while Ashley readied the cake. And Theresa, the birthday princess, and Mom,
who must have thought she was the Queen, waited to be served!
Happy Birthday to you.
Happy Birthday to yoooou.
Happy Birthday Dear Tesssssy.
Happy Birthday tooooo yoooou.
After all this celebrating, we finally went to the casino for awhile. Ashley, who is 30,
got carded three times! (we did a lot of going in and out of the casino for one reason or the other) I told her she'd be happy about it someday!
We went to one of the bars for awhile to listen to music, but of course, the band was on break at the time, but we did get a group photo!
Then ....SHOPPING at the outlet stores....I have to admit....I am in love with the Fossil outlet store. In love you hear me!
I hope you have a wonderful day today for your birthday Sister, and I hope you had a great weekend.
Cindy Bee
Hi Cindy, what a fun trip. When I was a little girl we lived about two blocks from the lake and we had a path through the woods from our neighborhood to Washington Park. The path came out where the old viewing tower is at the back of the zoo. I don't know, the tower may not be there anymore and they may not even have a zoo, but it was our neighborhood playground. I went to grade school in a two story brick building about four or five blocks from where the Casio is now, it hasn't been a school now for many years. That creek that the Blue Chip sits on was where we used to ice skate. Times have certainly changed.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an very fun weekend. It's always fun to get together with the girls.
Have a great week.
Always a Hoosier at heart,
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
