I found these two pictures on my phone after I posted Day one!
Pic of the peach drinks. Cold, light, refreshing after a long day of shopping!
Ok so Day TWO! MY ACTUAL 60th BIRTHDAY! We had mimosas for breakfast and my sister went to take a picture. I wasn't about to have my early, ugly picture taken! I need coffee, a shower, and make-up! In that order!
And we decided to not take showers because the plan was to hang out at the beach all day. So, we went to find some breakfast, and found this odd looking tunnel!
After breakfast we went back to the lobby and this gentleman was giving free samples of tomato juice. No can do....but...
he can make a pretty cute man-head out of veggies! Apparently, tomato juice was invented in French Lick, IN.
We went back to the room, changed into our swimsuits and headed for the pool. It was packed, but that was ok. Not a bad way to spend the day.
It was really fun when the dj would play YMCA and everyone would break out in song and dance! After spending the day by the pool, we went to our room and got cleaned up for the evening.
The agenda
1. selfie station
2. eat
3. sit on the porch and watch the ragtime band
4. relax
5. Maybe do a bit of gaming.
We were laughing so hard we could not get one good selfie.
The lady that finally offered to take our picture didn't get it. You were supposed to take a pic in front of the French Lick Resort Sign and another one under the Americana setting. And who knew the bunting fell down. We gave up!
We decided to go for a ride in the old fashioned train car to the hotel next door. Thing is, that old fashioned stuff doesn't have air. And bonus, the windows didn't come down! It was about 100 degrees out that day so needless to say, we were sweltering.
Vickie was too %$#@ hot!
Jeesh sister!
and it felt just like we were somewhere in the south! Gorgeous I tell you.
I love the way they had everything decorated for Independence Day!
And we sat and listened to the ragtime band! They were great. And the porch was packed!
So Theresa went inside to get a drink. She didn't know what she was ordering but it had the word "blend" in the description, so she thought it would be some sort of wine. Well, it was whiskey, and it was $10! We laughed, of course, but she didn't! And she threw it out!
Cindy, When you were there at the hotel, could you smell the sulfur from the springs? I do not like that smell. Also that tropical kind of steamy heat just takes my energy. I see you girls laughing in the photos , so I know you try to enjoy every moment , which is good. That certainly is a beautiful hotel. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Susie, no we could not smell the sulfur. When Dave and I went there, we went out to this “well/spring” area outside, and we could smell it when we were in that area. But we could not smell it inside or anywhere we went outside. I’ve heard other people say that though...people who haven’t been there in awhile. So I think it might have been that way at one time. Maybe they fixed the problem, since those days.
