Small Things Yarn Along

I always long for color on these winter and early spring days so I got this bag of yarn out that I ordered from Wool Warehouse (via Attic 24's blog) and started making grannny stripes and voila', I have color!

I'm reading "Ming Tea Murder" by Laura Childs.  Now, it sounds scary but it is not.  This is a series of books about a Tea Shop owner by the name of Theodosia.  She has two people who work with her in the tea shop.  The chef is Haley, and the tea master is Drayton.   The stories usually begin by one of them attending a function where someone is murdered.  The rest of the story is about solving the murder.  And Theodosia is always involved in solving the crime.  There are a lot of interesting characters that appear in every story, but there are three things I love about this series.
1) It takes place in Charleston, South Carolina.  One of my favorite places to vacation.
2) It is easy, fun reading.  By the time you get this far in the series, you feel like you know the characters.
and 3) She puts several recipes from the Indigo Tea Shop in the back of the book, along with tea party tips, and resources.

Sorry about the dark picture.  It's a dark and windy day out today.  I need color!

I'm linking up with Small Things Yarn Along party today!

  1. The colors in your blanket are beautiful. It is easy to see how they would chase away the Wintertime Blues. Thanks for the book review, I read mostly at night so I enjoy light reading.
Have a lovely week. Now off to visit some of the other girls in your need-working party.

  2. Oh dear Cindy looks like I have a new series to start. Is it on telly yet? They do sound a bit like Rosemary and Thyme though, who you would never hire to do your gardening cos someone always gets murdered. People might stop inviting them to functions...
