In my blog I plan to chat about nature, crafts, baking, gardening, beekeeping, family, and whatever else seems appropriate at the time. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Wanna join me on the pond?

Look closely...
.I'm IN the water taking this picture.  You've probably seen this pond in some of my previous posts.  It's right across the road from our house.

And it's ours.  Yesterday, after insulating the kitchen, mowing part of the yard, insulating the bathroom, and doing some other odd jobs, My Shug asked me if I would join him in the pond.

Yup!  I would....
I thought you might want to join us too!
It's a big pond, and there is plenty of room for everyone!
See my Shug, way up front....

There is also a creek that runs through the pond, so the water keeps moving.
Sure there are probably some creepy crawlies in the pond, but they don't bother us.  We don't even see them.

We have a few dead trees around the edge of the pond that we have left in their natural 'dead' state.  Birds and turtles love to hang out on them.

I love the view of our house from the pond.

So nice floating around, admiring our work on the house....
I think My Shug is thinking about everything that still needs to be done.
 Better get busy....
 Bye bye pond.....
I hope these pictures get me through the winter!   I know!  I know!  I'm concerned about it already.  Summer is going too fast!

    1. Yup. I'm finally learning...take some time are the key words, because it doesn't come neutrally.

  6. Lovely Photos. We are shivering our way through the end of winter here. I'm so pleased to hear someone say they leave dead things in place to cater for the natural wildlife I'm sure the birds and turtles make it so worthwhile. :)

    1. We do, and some of the birds I've never even seen before, such as this smallish crane-type bird. Very cute. Oh, and the elusive eagle!

  9. Cindy, I too, think our summer just is zipping by. You and your man seem to be enjoying your pond. One day your house will be all done and you'll look back and laugh. I hope it is soon. Why is our summer flying and the house finishing dragging....doesn't it seem that way. I love the way your house seems to be up on a bit of a hill. That is very pretty. Blessings to you and your hard working man. xoxo,Susie

  10. Susie, I really like you. You are the sweetest, but I am not going to look back and laugh! I'm going to look back and say NEVER AGAIN! oh wait...I'm already doing that! Umm the house...is on a hill...hence " hilltop farm". Lol!

  11. Awesome Cindy! I hate to tell you....well, I won't. I don't want to ruin your summer fun just yet. But it's not pretty and has to do with your weather next month. :( And this winter. :( You should just move south! :) ( I know, you've got a beautiful house and family up there...I don't blame you.)
