My mail surprise and a finished WIP!

Thank You Connie from Crafty Home Cottage

for the very cute bunting. I know my shelf looks a bit cluttered-but it's because I have ALL of the dishes done, and everything put away.  Oh I suppose I could have stacked things a little better, but look at the cute heart bunting okay?  That's what I'm showing you!  I won it from Connie!

And thank you for the adorbs cookie cutter, pot holder, and dish towel.  Love it all.  And check out the pic....told ya I have red in my kitchen!  Matches PERFECT!

The other day I made a quick stop by our local fabric store and they had all crochet and knitting books 40% off.  I bought a couple. I came home straight away (I'm watching Cranford - that's how they talk)....so....I came home straight away and began to work on my handwarmers.  They are now complete!

They match my Dottie Angel High Hopes Wrap.  If you go to her blog, look up High Hopes Wrap, you will find the pattern, which I believe she might refer to as a recipe.  Here is a reminder of what it looks like, since it's been awhile since I've shown it to you.  It's been so long ago that when I finished it, i was in flip flops, and now I'm in boots.

So, how does one take a picture of hand warmers on their hands?  I tried to set the timer on  my camer and I kept messing up.  This was the best I got.  My hair was wet, not greasy.  But just now when I downloaded this picture, I called my beautician to get my hairs cut!
This is my year of learning and trying new things.  I've even signed up for a couple of classes on how to do things with my I-phone.  So, I decided rather than crochet some flowers, even though I bought a Cute and Easy Crochet Flower book, I decided to try to embroider flowers on the hand warmers.

I tried to take the picture this way...still setting the timer, so you get an idea...but you can't see the smooshy arms.
Ta
 Dah!
My favorite crochet hand warmers so far!

 Onto the next WIP!

What are you working on?

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

A couple of weeks ago I commented on a blog.
And truth be told, I completely forgot that I entered a give-away when I commented.
Then what to my wondering eyes did appear~an e-mail from Connie at Crafty Home Cottage!
 I WON I WON!
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner...is what we say.
Who knows why...
So I won a $25.00 Amazon gift card.  And I decided I was going to order some books.
No surprise there.....Books, yarn and purses....are my addictions.

I thought I'd show you all what I got with my gift card...ok I might have added a tiny bit with it.

Who doesn't love Tilda and all of her sweety cuteness?
I have a couple of her books, of which I've never made a thing out of, but someday........
I thought this dog was just adorable!  Who doesn't love a book with a cute dog in it?
Whale pillows?  maybe.....what?   I like them.  I think they'd be cute on a bed.
Popsicle pin cushion...which would also be cute as a tree ornament.
Now, I don't know about all of you, but I enjoy Molly Makes magazines so I thought this might be a good book to have.  I also enjoy hanging such items as birds in my tree that is inside our suite that we are living in.  My tree that I grew from a seed, that was from a fruit that someone picked from a tree several years ago in Charleston, SC.

You are probably wondernng what this afghan has to do with birds....Look closely.
 Bird grannies!
 Owl bunting...
 A french press wrap.
This pattern would also be cute somewhere other than on a french press, since I don't use mine. Maybe a pillow.  Does anyone out there use a french press?  As a matter of fact, what kind of coffee pots do you use?
And lastly, this book, which I'm gonna love.

This above doily isn't a doily at all, it's a rug!  Whodathunkit?
Another owl bunting.  I see owl bunting in my future.
Snowflake bunting.  Gasp!  I just got an idea  My MIL made several snowflakes for me one year, and I stick a rubber thingy on them with a hook and put them on my windows in the winter.  I'm thinking....turn them into bunting.  What do you think?
Russian nesting dolls!  Cute, they really nest.

Thank you Connie for the lovely gift.  This winter I do hope to have some time to enjoy some more crafting.

Right now, I'm still extracting honey and painting.  And trying to figure out what to do about some paint issues.  Help me decide please.... Pop on over to the house blog....what a mess.

Then, pop over and say Hi to Connie.  She is going through a rough time right now.  Her little Butchy dog was mauled by another dog and I feel so sorry for the poor little guy.

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

About three weeks ago, BOHO Farm (Caroline - who always looks perfect even when she is working in her garden! She doesn't sweat. I asked her. She says she does...but just look at her...she doesn't. ) Anyway...Caroline was having a Ramsign giveaway. I thought it would look nice on our new home, so I entered her giveaway. I won! I WON!!!! I am so excited to get the sign. I made a mistake ordering so it was delayed a bit. I will show it to you when I get it. In the meantime, check out Caroline's blog. Her most current post is just heartbreaking. She went away for a few days and her husband forgot to water the garden. She lives in the desert.

Then, last week, I entered another giveaway. Hooking it (crocheting) with Mr. Lick Lick (Leo-who looks something like my Dixie but with short hair) was giving away some crochet books. Can you believe I won again! I did. And I got the book in the mail while I was gone. Not only did I get the book, but she threw in a little crocheted key ring too. Sweet. I am going to try to make some of these itty bitty animals when I get a little more knowledgeable in crocheting. They look fun. Click on her blog to see all the free yarn she was just given. What a haul!

Thank you so much to both of you.
This is the fourth time I've won blog giveaways! It is. And I never win anything! So, if you think you want something that is being given away, sign up, give it a go! You just never know.

We're back home. We went to Brown County State Park the last couple of days. It was beautiful. I'll show some pics this week. Orange, yellow, and red trees, deer, log cabins, vans with room size air conditioners sticking out the window! I'm serious.

Today I spent the day taking supers off of hives, sweating horribly (I wish Caroline would show me how she does it) getting bees ready for winter, and getting ready to extract more honey. I will probably be doing this for the next three days. No make-up, hot, stinky, sweaty work. I had to quit today because my bees were MAD!

I'm going on with the Lucy bag. She said I should!

I'm a WINNER!

I'm a WINNER! Check this out. I won one of those little grapevine trees from Blogger Beth Notaro, The Granny Bee. Cool for me huh? Now Beth we are gonna have to meet for coffee or lunch or something....

And, speaking of bloggers, and meeting...I don't think I mentioned a week or so ago, Reality Jayne and I met janis, from Just Breathe Janis, at this cute little coffee house in Noblesville, IN. When we got there I told RJ I would buy her coffee/donut because she drove. She insisted I not, and I insisted it's fine, "I have an account here." "WHAT? You have an account in an out of town coffee house?" well, yeeah, doesn't everyone? {sigh} I had to prove it to her. (Thanks Billie ;-) for the gift card)

And that janis...what a sweetie. We knew it was her because she had a white shirt on. She knew it was me because I told her I'd carry this bag, she knew it was RJ because...well, there was only two of us, and RJ was the other person she was meeting. So the coffee shop was nice, janis was nice, well, except for the time I got this 'look' from her when RJ told her that Cindy Bee is one of those "green people". "Yeah, she recycles," she said. Like I was a bad person. Well here's the truth peeps. I'm coming clean. I have not been recycling. There, I said it. I want to, I will again someday, but right now, well let's just say we didn't even get the trash to the curb Sunday night. But anyway, it was fun taking a break, meeting janis, and going out for coffee. Now I want to go see the movie "The Help." Has anyone seen it? Is it any good? I read the book and loved it.

I won I won! Check out Mel's Blog.

I am going to continue flying our flag this week while I post. For those of you that want to post pics of our flag on your blog, I gave permission yesterday that you can use any of these pics. This was Beth's request and I think it's a good one. Whether we agree or disagree, we are all American's and I would love for us to show a united front, regardless of our opinions. And here's the thing....if you want your opinion heard, go vote. Today's the day.

So, yesterday, I was sitting at the table, listening to the rain, perusing some of my favorite blogs when I saw my name on one of my fave blogs! WHAT?!?!! I won something? I couldn't believe it, but I got up this morning and checked again, and guess what? My name is still there!

I have been following Melissa Goodsell for two years now. I've watched James and Bella grow, I watched Rich make a wood fired oven, and a home for Bella's Blythe dolls, I've seen pics of their vacations. I've gotten recipes, craft ideas, sewing, knitting, crocheting ideas from Mel. One of my nieces checks on Bella's blog every time she comes over for a visit. Mel just seems to have it all together.

Right now she is having several give aways, but hurry, one ends today and one ends tomorrow. She is also offering some discounts at some etsy shops. Her most recent post offers you a chance to win a box of 50 Cadbury candy bars. Your mission is to sell them and donate the money to a charity of your choice!

Check out Mel's blog. I'm sure you'll love it. I do.
