The Bellagio

When you walk into the lobby of the Bellagio, this is on the ceiling.  All made out of glass.  I've seen the artist on TV before, but I can't remember his name.  I told my friend I'd love to have a ceiling like this and she reminded me of the dusting!
The main reason I wanted to go to the Bellagio was the conservatory.
I LOVE IT
I would love to have a conservatory at our house.  I wonder why people don't do that anymore.  Imagine the warmth, plant life, and sunshine in the winter months and how much happier we would all be!

But....would we have to dust them?!!?!!

Lots and lots of flowers everywhere.

Can
YOU
SMELL

THEM?

As you can tell, it was a very Asian, Zen feeling in the conservatory this time.  Every year they have something different.

This is the pool at the Bellagio.  We were not allowed out there, but we could look through the window!

We had a wonderful time on our trip, and I think this is about it for the pictures.  I've been to Vegas several times and if you want to see other pictures you can go back through the years on my blog.
And...
As you can tell by the fact that it took me two weeks to post four days....life is just too darn busy.  I am hoping to be able to post a little bit on a daily basis in the future.  If I can't, I might have to give this up.  I hope not....I've blogged for years and I enjoy it.  We'll see.

The Venitian

The next casino/hotel I want to show you had an Italian theme.

 The Venitian

The gondola rides start out inside, even though they look like they are outside.  The picture I took above is outside.  I'm on a balcony.  The pictures below are inside.

This is part of a mural on the ceiling at the Venitian

And this is St. Mark's square.
See the statue at the left of the picture.  It isn't a statue.  She is real.
St. Mark's square is huge, and again, inside.  They paint their ceilings to look like they are outside.

They had singing and a skit in St. Mark's square and I had never seen it before. We just happened to get there in time to get a seat before it started.

They even had audience participation!  They gave everyone red, white, and green napkins to wave in the air.

Having been to Italy a couple of years ago, the Venitian was one of my favorite hotels.  I'd love to stay there but it's a tad pricy for my budget.

Flamingo Hilton

Yes these Pink Flamingos are real!  Behind the Flamingo Hilton is a tropical paradise.
So I had to take my friend to see it.
Huge Koi.
Waterfalls abound

Palm trees everywhere

The lady asked me, "For a fun, free thing to do in Vegas, would you like to have your picture taken with these birds?"
The "free" word got me.  But WE could not take pictures.  They, took all the pictures and we had to BUY them!
I've decided the only thing that stays in Vegas is your money!  But we had fun visiting this tropical paradise.  And the birds were cute and funny.  One of them tried to take my earring off, and my barrette out of my hair, and the other one tried to take Teresa's hair out of her head!

This place really is a tropical paradise. There was a wedding going on back here.  You would never know you were in the middle of the city that never sleeps!
Oh and this place used to be one of Bugsy Siegal's hideouts back in the gangsta days.  He had escape routes all over the place, with a chauffeured limo ready and waiting at all times in the basement.  Someone made a comment that Vegas was built by the mafia!
Probably was...
Probably still is!

Last day of Vegas trip.

Law people I just can't get caught up. I think the three hour time difference between Las Vegas and here, and the Daylight Savings time change here, and the late nights in Vegas and the early nights here are about to do me in. I'm tired. Anyway, this is the last of our vacay pics. I know, it's like home movies from the good ole' days but I use this blog as a journal and it's my blog, so phhhbbbttt...home movies here we go!

So here is our limo waiting for us to go to the Penn and Teller show.

They were telling everyone to come on stage before the show started, and inspect this box. So my cousin Jamie (who just turned 50 and the reason we were in Vegas celebrating his birthday) and I went on stage. I took a pic of him inside this box. Then he said, "Here give me the camera and let me take a picture of you on stage." OK.....he takes the pic, looks at it and kind of laughs. I didn't think anything about it, but when we got back to our seats I looked at the pic.

Seriously? Jeeeeeeeez.....this is the picture he took. Can't even tell I'm on stage Dude. The Penn & Teller show was really good. It is a magic show and a bit of comedy too. I would recommend it.

Sunday was our last day there and My Shug and I decided to go for another walk. I can't remember if this was inside Bellagio or Caesars Palace. I think it was in the shopping area of Bellagio.

Those are stores and eateries along the water front.

The architecture and artwork in the places are amazing.

Look under the clamshell...

honeybees!

If you ever go to Vegas, go to the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Not so much for the shopping, but for the ambiance.

And you always have these characters hanging out all along the strip. You give them a tip to get your picture taken with them.

Have you ever seen a mini-Elvis? I think we saw around four Elvis Presley's out there. Huuu-that'sallottaElvis!

Now this is Hwy 465. It's four lanes and during the day, bumper to bumper. This was around 12:30 - 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning. I have NEVER seen it so empty.....EVAH. And I've been on it at this time before. We were afraid the rapture came while we were gone. Think about it...this would be the Bible Belt and we were in Sin City. I'm glad to get back to normal.

And now I want to get caught up on your blogs. And I have a fun blog story to tell you....later.
