In my blog I plan to chat about nature, crafts, baking, gardening, beekeeping, family, and whatever else seems appropriate at the time. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!

First Cousins Reunion

A few weeks ago one of our family members decided to have a
First Cousins Reunion.
These two hooligans are cousin-in-laws...but we drop the in law part.
We're all cousins.
OK some of the Aunts/Uncles/Moms/Dads came too!

Johnny was the cook and we were having a fish boil.
Gloria was checking the pool water...It was a little too chilly.

Vickie and Mom,
and Jamie and Uncle John decided on a game of shuffleboard.

Dad and Dave played around with a game of corn hole.

I sat around and enjoyed the scenery!  Look at the beautiful roses.

Robert helped Johnny carry in the food!

Time to eat!

Ok picture time.  And Lori has certain ideas about where we should all sit!

Ok there!  Now ......smile.
GLORIA!
VICKIE!

Seriously!  Have we completely forgotten we are in a photo shoot.  You just sit there and don't move, and no matter what...just smile.  See the back row!  We got it!

Okay...Maybe not....

Whoops...almost
Open your eyes Johnny!
I think we've got one!
YAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!

Ok, now let's add spouses....
blurry
Open your eyes Vickie...

This is never going to work, and Mom you are cutting off our heads...

No control!

SISTER!

Mom....the heads.....

OH....MY...GOSH!
This is so not working out.

Seriously?

OK Dave duck your head....maybe it'll be in the picture!

Not bad...

Better!

GREAT PIC!
PHEW!!!!!!  FINALLY!

Ok now one with everyone...and why oh why do I never remember to bring my selfie stick.
OK get up here everyone...

Yep....this'll work.

I am so glad we don't use film in cameras anymore!!!

The day turned into evening and some of us spent the night while others started the trek back home.
We had a great time.  And we're hoping to make this a tradition.
Hopefully more of our cousins can attend next year.  We grew up playing together and really, our cousins were our first friends.  There are about 15 that did not attend.  Maybe next year!
Thank you Johnny and Lori for hosting our first, First Cousins Reunion!

Baby News & Labor Day Weekend!

Once upon a time....years and years ago, my cousin Vickie and I dressed up a couple of Teddy Bears in her children's clothes.  I'm talking somewhere in the 1980's....

These green bibs belonged to her son Ryan, when he was little.

On Labor Day weekend, I returned the bibs to Ryan and Melissa, so they could put them on Murphy!
Meet Murphy!
Happy Little Family!
After visiting Murphy, we went to my sister and her husband's house for a cookout!
I'm a little late in posting this as it was Labor Day Weekend.
(I told you I don't know where September went!)

It was gorgeous outside.

We had s'mores...

And we watched a movie, outside!
"Arachnophobia"
The kids in the background are trying to talk Mom (Grandma) into taking them somewhere.
Not gonna happen!
Dad and Vickie must think it's funny.

Goodnight y'all!
Thanks for the fun evening!

First Friday in September & Chick Flicks!

Wow!  Where is September going?  And what's the deal with the weather?
I don't know if I should be drinking hot chocolate...
or eating ice cream!
So I'm doing both!!!

We have an event downtown called "First Friday."  I have to admit, I usually find them somewhat boring.  I used to love going, back in the day when I knew a lot of people that attended, and my friend Beth had a studio.  I would sit in the studio and visit all evening long.  I'm a social person, in case you haven't guessed that yet.
A couple of weeks ago, it was Friday, I had no plans, and didn't want to stay home.   I decided to go to our First Friday event.  I even went into the 'old studio.'  It now has a very nice lady in it that sells vintage and fun stuff.  As I was heading downstairs, this lady was playing the piano, and these two men started singing.
IT WAS GREAT!
Not their voices...but the fact that they got up and sang and didn't care how they sounded.
It was an old tune, and they were loving every minute.

Then I came home with my pizza, popped open some wine, and yes, this was after the moosetracks ice cream cone!!!!  It was Friday after all!  And I was out on a date with myself!

I popped in a chick flick, snuggled with my dog, ate pizza and drank wine.
The movie was
"Letters to Juliet"

Have you ever seen it?
My husband has a saying that if it doesn't have princesses and fairies in it, I don't want to watch it!  I can't help it, I like happy endings.  And in the winter months, I spend a lot of time at home, especially in the evenings....and I need some chick flick suggestions.

My question to you is what are your favorite Chick Flicks?

Cindy

PS.  A few of my favorites are....

I've watched more than half a dozen times!
Under the Tuscan Sun

The Notebook
A Good Year
The Long Hot Summer (which I usually watch in the summer)

Have seen more than once....
