This morning I was getting ready for an appointment when I got a call. It was my Mom...she was somewhat panicked. Something bad has happened...and can I go get Dad. He's at the credit union and he's a bit shook up. (without all of the details that was the 'jest' of the call) When I got off the phone I was shook up...literally shaking.
I got to the credit union and somehow, someway, someone took me inside to my Dad.
Here's what happened. He was walking out of the credit union and ran into a guy he hadn't seen in five years. They were joking around and talking, happy to see each other, when in the blink of an eye...a lady walked up to where my Dad and his friend were standing, a truck drove up to them, and hit the lady. She flew in the air, then was ran over. She was killed. The man my Dad was talking to got hurt from the flying wood and bricks from the building. My Dad ran inside and told them to call 911. My Dad doesn't have a scratch on him. Thank God my Pa is ok. Thank God.
Life is precious people.
Treat every day special.
Treat people special.
Make amends.
Funny how I just posted how we can live, laugh, love, and pray. I pray for that lady's family. They got the dreaded phone call today.
My pa is ok.

In my blog I plan to chat about nature, crafts, baking, gardening, beekeeping, family, and whatever else seems appropriate at the time. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Happy Fourth of July!
HAPPY
BIRTHDAY
AMERICA!!!
Years ago, when I was doing my usual...complaining about the government in the United States...a friend of mine said, "Cindy, you can complain all you want, but if you were to visit another country, you would realize that there are many countries that have a much worse government than ours." She was right.
We have freedom. We can live, laugh, love, and pray.
Cherish it!
And thank a soldier today.
Thank a soldier every day.
And when you say the Pledge of Allegiance, put your right hand over your heart.
And when you sing our National Anthem, stand at attention.
And teach your children to do the same...thank you very much.
Peace,
Cindy Bee

Birthday Fun
On my birthday I was sitting at a stop light and all of a sudden the police stopped traffic in all directions. There were several police cars and motorcycle cops. I was sitting there wondering what in the world was going on! Then came the cars....classic cars. I grabbed my camera and started snapping pics. We are called the "City of Firsts." The first automobile was made right here in our town. And the street I was on, was reported to be the same street that Elwood Haynes drove the first American automobile down in 1894! How cool. So they have a classic car parade every year on that same street to get the Haynes-Apperson festival started, and I happened to have a very good 'seat' for the classic car parade!

Rather than bore you with all of the pics I took of the classic cars, I will show you my second favorite, since I didn't get a pic of my first favorite.

Love it. First favorite looked a lot like this but was a RED truck.

This is Christy and Rebecca. That evening, for my b-day, a bunch of us went to the Haynes-Apperson festival to see the Mummies. If you've never seen them, you must. They are fun. My Sister came up to me before the festival started and said Christy wants to show you some jewelry.

okaayyy....and they start walking across the street to this pub. Jewelry in a pub? No. They were buying me a birthday shot. No jewelry shopping whatsoever.
"Ok, but just one because I've given up alcohol, latte's, and junk food."
"WHAT?"
"yup"
"Only on special occasions from now on."
I reckon my b-day was special occasion enough.

My friend RJ and T-Bone showed up, and for some reason, people kept coming up to her and standing....like....right in front of her....like she wasn't even there! Weird. I have to tell you this festival brings out the worst of the worst in our town. It just does.
