You know how you think you've finally slowed down a bit, then
BUSY happens!
Well....that happened to me last week.
Now peeps, I don't have an 8-5 job, and much of my busy-ness was social.
And I don't mind social at all!
But it all seemed to happen in one week.
And then I had this weird dream....
I was in the house I grew up in,
and I woke up trying to catch my breath!
Time was going so fast I couldn't keep up. I didn't even have time to breathe!
I literally woke up taking deep breaths....
And then, I couldn't get back to sleep.
So I laid there wondering if the meaning of the dream had anything to do with my week...
and what would I have changed.
This was my week.
Monday-I got material ready so I could continue helping to weave the end of the warp at the cabin, at the fairgrounds.
Tuesday - I pulled frames...bee frames, so that I could extract.
Tuesday evening - I played cards with family that have been doing this forever. And I mean forever. I haven't been a card player forever. I just started subbing a few years ago.
Wednesday - I wove for four hours at the cabin.
then came home and my cousin Vickie came over and we extracted honey.
Thursday- I had crochet group from 9-12,
Debbie and K's blanket
I was just fiddling around with material that had woven with at the fair. I wanted to see what it looked like crocheted.Cheryl made a dishcloth.
After crochet, I met with Quitters (friends I worked with at Purdue) for a luncheon from 1-3 and then a beekeeper friend came over and extracted his honey that evening.
Friday - Our wifi provider person came over to connect a different router, but after two hours of that not working out so well, she gave up. I then did a bunch of errands so I could go
on Saturday - with family to a casino up North called Four Winds. Again, I am not a gambler. I played for an hour then spent a lot of time walking around.
I think I take after my Dad in this area (tee hee )
We were both losers!
Only he was a sore loser and I was just a loser! LOL!
All family...Look at us. I wouldn't give this up for the world.
My Mom is behind me, my Dad is beside me, and that is My Mom's twin brother in the back.
The other three are cousins Rusty, Marlene, and Vickie.
Then Sunday we celebrated my Sister's birthday, which was Saturday.
I'll post those pictures later.
I also baked a coffee cake from scratch Thursday morning at 4:00 am because I couldn't sleep.
My Shug and I both bought new bikes and he is healed enough that the Dr. said he could ride.
He can not lift.
We live very close to a bike trail and it just feels good to get exercise.
But this busy-ness, does not. What would you have changed?

LOL! I've been busy the last few weeks... catching up with all the stuff round the apartment that I couldn't do while my arm was weak / not working post-surgery ... including some crochet for the first time in 3 years!!! From your week, I would change the bike ride (I can't ride a bike unless I get more surgery on my neck, which I refuse to do) for a nice walk ...you can take photos when walking and you can't when cycling unless you want go really piss your husband off (I speak from experience!)
ReplyDeleteWell Fiona, my Shug cannot walk very well right now. You see he had to post pone a foot surgery (three times) to have this hernia surgery! I'm so glad to hear you are crocheting again. I can't wait to see what you make. Glad you are on the mend!

Sounds like a very fun, but busy week! Lovely weaving and crochet and cute family photo. Interesting dream and love your new bikes. The bike path does look very inviting and serene. x Karen
ReplyDeleteHi Beatrice,
DeleteThat bike path is very serene. I'm wondering if I could talk my shug into a quick little ride about now!

What a lovely place to bike ride, congratulations on the new bikes and the new commitment to ride together. I wish we did that, but I can't get my Steve on a bike. I am so impressed with your rug weaving . . . it is beautiful, something that I have always wanted to try. You're a very talented girl!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
Connie :)
I wish you lived closer. I'd take you to that cabin and let you weave a little something!

Cindy, It seems all the good fun stuff happens at once. Glad you are enjoying your life to the fullest...but it would not hurt to slow down a little. LOL... The bike riding will be relaxing and fun. Love seeing all you do. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Susie,
DeleteYou are so right...I need to slow down, and I did. I don't know why it seems I was just as busy this week as I was two weeks ago, but I was much more relaxed. Glad you are safe from tornadoes!

You had me at coffee cake from scratch :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your sister!!
Yeah that cake from scratch sounds good about right now!
DeleteMy Sister thanks you...she just doesn't know she thanks you! LOL!
