Pre Christmas Crafting - Post Christmas Crafting!

When I had the girls,

"an elf" left this in Taylor's luggage for Cindy because "she would need it after this weekend!"
What a smart elf!!!  YUM!
STOP.....Stop licking your computer screen.

So, when the girls left that Sunday, I was in a crafty mood.
I still had some Christmas presents to make, and you know what, I got a lot more done without a computer!  I worked on the above hat.....

Then as I was putting the buttons away that the girls had played with, I was looking at what they did with them, and I got an idea.
They took the green buttons and made little trees around a little Popsicle house they made.
So I stacked up some button trees, and sewed some thread through the holes, and added a bell.

I don't know what I will do with them, but I have a whole year to think about it!

And I think they're cute....maybe necklaces?

Anyway...then I did something I had been wanting to do for quite awhile.

I got out the chalkboard paint, and I painted this cabinet door.

During all of this I've still been moving stuff from the other house.  When I came upon this sugar shaker, I decided to make a little snow scene.  I put it on the shelf with my other Christmas fun stuff.

I also baked some cookies...

and you know what...they were okay.  They looked pretty...but I think I like all chocolate chip better.

When I went to spinning, these ladies in our group played Christmas carols.
We all sang for a bit.  Fun!

And that my friends brings us up to Christmas Eve!  Phew!
*********
Now...for a few things I've been up to lately!  Groovy Girl Yarn had an after Christmas sale and I bought some Weekend yarn....to go with the weekend yarn I already had.  I  heart it.
Look....I'm making a new Lucy bag!  Love the vibrant colors.
(See Groovy Girl Yarn and Attic 24 - Lucy in my side bar)

And in all of the packing and unpacking I've been doing,  I'm finding things I forgot I had!  Such as these beautiful tablecloths!  I collect vintage linens.

And this weekend it reached 60 degrees!  Every hive was buzzin!!!!!!  WOOHOO!!!

And I haven't updated you on my ripple blanket lately so here ya go!  This is made mostly from yarn called Vintage and Ultra Alpalca.  (all bought at Groovy Girl Yarn)  I wish you could feel how soft this blanket is.
Tonight.....Downton Abbey...crochet....tea (or wine...or hot chocolate - depends on my mood!)
And lastly....creepy I know...but I got my eyes dilated Thursday...today is Sunday ....
and they still are dilated!
I've called the Doctor....they said to call them back if it's still like this on Monday.
"What the "H"?"

  1. Hi Cindy, Wow you have been a busy girl. I love the little button trees, they are adorable. That cabinet that you painted with chalkboard paint is too cute for words. I would say that you are a Jill of all trades . . . so many interests . . . kind of like me, but it sure keeps life interesting. Doesn't it?

In regard to the comment you left:
We do have a marvelous time together. I wish that I lived closer you and I could form a duo and go around playing at the local nursing homes together. You would not believe the pleasure that you get from playing for them. One of the places where I go solo is an Alzheimer's home . . . they may not remember a lot of things, but sometimes I'll see one or more of them mouthing along to an old tune. Music can be such a magical thing . . . after playing in a place like that I feel so gloriously blessed, and I feel like this little gift of music that I have is being used in the best possible way. It's a joyful thing :)
You have been one of my dearest and sweetest followers. I feel a little hug every time I see that you've left a comment. Have a wonderful day.
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  9. Hey! I lost you somehow. I was trying to catch up on blogs and all of a sudden I realized that I hadn't seen yours. And wouldn't you know it I couldn't think of the name of your blog to save my life. Geeze. I hate how they changed blogger. My old blog doesn't have my favorite blogs on the sideline anymore because I changed it on my new one. And to add all of the blogs I had on Hookin' It will be a chore. Not sure if I'm ready for that or not. I haven't had time or the motivation.

Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year Cindy!

  10. I love the chalkboard cabinet - so fun to leave little notes to eachother.
Your blanket is so beautiful...I love all the colors.

I got my eyes dilated too last week. But it came down in the hour or so. They are creepy. I took a picture of mine too and added "creepy eyes' to the caption and printed for project life!
    Again we are in sync!
Happy New year! Chocolate chips are the best~!
